USi's Compliance Program Assures Quality and High Standards
As a service business, it's essential that we protect your data and help you meet critical standards in your industry. USi's rigorous program of audits, certifications, and affiliations is designed to achieve the highest levels of quality and help clients comply with industry requirements.
USi's Audits and Examinations
USi undergoes audits and examinations to validate our processes and controls against industry-defined standards, government regulations, and our own internal standards. Audits in which USi participates include:
- The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 Type II, an internationally recognized standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In a SAS 70 Type II audit, an independent accounting firm tests the controls and processes USi uses to safeguard clients' financial information. USi undergoes SAS 70 Type II audits two times a year—twice the industry standard.
- Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, created by major credit card companies to safeguard customer information. Because service providers that store, process, or transmit cardholder data must comply with the PCI Data Security Standard, USi undergoes regular PCI audits.
- Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), a law mandating that personal health information must be protected. USi participates in HIPAA audits as needed by clients to demonstrate that information remains private and secure.
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), also known as the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act of 2002―a law administered by the Securities and Exchange Commission to guard against accounting errors and fraudulent business practices. USi takes part in regular SOX audits on behalf of clients.
- Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), established to protect against fraud and abuse in the futures and option markets. USi engages in audits as needed to help clients demonstrate that they comply with required measures.
